A Trigger Clasp is used in jewellery to attach two items together. This might be a clasp on a necklace or bracelet to join two ends of a chain together, or alternatively it might be a locking mechanism on a brooch.

This Sterling Silver (925) Trigger Clasp consists of a hook-shaped clasp with a spring-loaded "trigger" mechanism that opens and closes the clasp. The clasp is attached to one end of a piece of jewellery, while a jump ring or other connector is attached to the other end, allowing the jewellery to be easily fastened and unfastened.
