Serinity Crystals Faberge Egg Rhinestone Embellishment Project

The gold standard for luxury decorated eggs is Faberge and by following this simple tutorial, you too can create your own imitation egg in the style of the famous gilded ornaments, by using rhinestones.

This design draws from the signature latticework that Faberge eggs are known for, however there are many different styles any colour schemes to choose from and we encourage you to explore different layouts and colours schemes to create a preciously unique egg that you can be proud to call your own.

Instructions

STEP 1

Use the gold acrylic paint to draw the iconic lattice pattern aground the egg. Allow at least 1cm between each of the lines as this will leave room for the crystals that will be glued down over the top once the paint is dry.

STEP 2

Using the Gem Tac, place a thin line of glue cross the middle of the egg, after a few moments the glue will be tacky, and you can place the Preciosa Cupchain over the line of glue. Hold the cupchain in place until the glue is dry.

STEP 3

Over the gold lattice lines, glue down one SS20 Topaz Shimmer rhinestones over every spot where the gold lines cross over each other.

STEP 4

Glue the 2304 Golden Shadow teardrop rhinestones onto the gold lines connecting the Topaz Shimmer Crystals. The 2304 shape is wider as one end, so for best effect, have all of the 2304 crystals facing in the same direction to give the appearance of a flow in the lattice design.

STEP 5

Use the Gem Tac to glue the 18mm Rondell Ball onto the top of the egg.

STEP 6

Take the plastic fork and cut off each of the prongs at their base, then use a controlled heat source to gently melt and curl the ends. Do this 3 – 4 times to create the legs for the Faberge Egg. 

Step 7

Glue the legs onto the bottom of the egg, taking care to space them out evenly so that the egg won’t topple over.

STEP 8 

Paint the legs gold and let the paint dry.
